R. Steven Adams, CEO
& Co-Founder
Mr. Adams has been a leader in the development and management
of products and information systems in the converging Internet,
cable television, telephony and personal computer industries. Steve
was among the first to incorporate Internet technologies with online
information systems, and he understands the unique combination of
personal computing technologies, Internet communications and human
interaction. Prior to co-founding RMD Systems, Steve founded HotelNet,
an online business application for the hospitality industry. Steve
also founded Webb Interactive Services and served as CEO and Chairman
from 1994 until 2000 and took the company public with a successful
IPO in 1996. While at Webb, he was instrumental in developing MDGateway,
an online system for continuing medical education for physicians.
Dr. Abrams (bio below) served as Chairman of the Medical Advisory
Board for MDGateway and this is where Steve and Dr. Abrams first
discussed the need for improved communication in the healthcare
industry and the concept of RMD began to evolve.
Bernard A. Harris, Jr., MD,
President & CEO Vesalius Ventures, Board Member
Dr. Harris is currently the President and CEO of Vesalius Ventures,
Inc., a venture capital accelerator for Medical Informatics and
Telemedicine. Dr. Harris earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology
from the University of Houston, a Master of Medical Science from
the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, a Master of
Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Houston and
a Doctorate of Medicine from Texas Tech University School of Medicine.
He completed a Residency in Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic,
a National Research Council Fellowship in Endocrinology at the NASA
Ames Research Center and trained as a Flight Surgeon at the Aerospace
School of Medicine, Brooks Air Force Base. He is also a licensed
private pilot and certified scuba diver.
Dr. Harris was at NASA for ten years, where he served as Flight
Surgeon, Clinical Researcher and Astronaut. A veteran of space for
over eleven years, he has logged more than 438 hours and traveled
over 7.2 million miles. On his second flight, Dr. Harris conducted
the first telemedicine conference from space with the Mayo Clinic.
He served as Chairman of the Science Advisory Board of Kodiak Technologies,
Senior Consultant for NASA Aerospace Safety Panel, Member of the
NASA Biological and Physical Sciences Committee, Council for the
NIH National Institute for Deafness and Communications Disorders
and committee for the National Academies Institute of Medicine.
Currently, he is on the Board of Directors for the Medical Informatics,
Technology and Applications Center, Houston Technology Center, BioHouston,
Houston Small Business Development Corporation and the National
Space Biomedical Research Institute, Board of Scientific Counselors.
He holds several faculty appointments including, Associate Professor
in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch and
Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine. His areas of
expertise include musculoskeletal physiology, osteoporosis, space
medicine and Telemedicine. Throughout his career, he has received
numerous awards and recognition, including two NASA Space Flight
Medals, election as Fellow of the American College of Physicians
and was the recipient of the 2000 Horatio Alger Award.
William F. Adiletta , President TekFinancial Solutions, Board Member
William F. Adiletta has over 20 years of experience building companies, and leading innovations in the Financial and Telecommunications industries. Mr. Adiletta is a recognized expert in large-scale software development, global trading systems, middleware architecture, and next-generation telecommunications network infrastructure. TekFinancial Solutions, a division of Tekmark Global Solutions, offers professional IT services designed to address the transformation underway in the financial markets today. Mr. Adiletta founded eStrategies Group in 2002; a strategy consultancy designed to assist firms in adapting to changing business environments, and merged with Tekmark Global Solutions in 2006, a leading IT and telecom solutions consultancy for over twenty-five years.
Previously, Mr. Adiletta was the CIO of Global Crossing, at the time, the 5th largest global Telco responsible for consolidating the technology infrastructure of its global acquisitions and centralizing worldwide information systems and controls. Global Crossing acquired IX Net and IPC the leading Financial Services Extranet, in which Mr. Adiletta was CTO of both organizations.
Prior to that, Mr. Adiletta was President of the Capital Markets division of OptiMark Technologies, Inc., a leading innovator of trade order matching facilities for global securities markets and exchanges. Mr. Adiletta has worked with Private Equity firms and helped launch and develop several start-up ventures all of which have been successfully acquired.
Mr. Adiletta earned a B.A. in Physics from the University of Connecticut and an M.S. in Physics from DePaul University in Chicago.
